Casting & Glue-Ons

I am looking forward to a Glue-On hoof care clinic with Philip Himanka in May and offering glue-on packages after that. Casting is a great way to provide hoof protection as well. Understandably, hoof protection is often needed in the transition out of shoes - depending on the strength of the horse’s foot and time they’ve been in shoes and farrier care. We’re fortunate to have a whole array of protective options and packing materials to support growing healthier hooves! I hope to replace the following photos with some of my own but credit goes to EasyCare, EDSS and Daisy Bicking Integrative Hoof School for the glue on photos below. An example of a hoof cast is below that - almost like a custom fit hoofboot that stays on for 2-4 weeks generally. Supportive and antimicrobial packing/cushion can be kept on the bottom of the hoof with casting. Avoids the vibration and nails of a steel shoe.
